In all three synoptic gospels, Jesus says, “The Scriptures declare, ‘My Temple will be called a house of prayer,’ but you have turned it into a den of thieves!” What is it about the actions of the money changers in the temple that caused Jesus to react with such anger? Why was the temple so important to Jesus? After all, his death would put an end to the entire sacrificial system and any need for Christ followers to be involved with the temple? Could it be that Jesus had such a high regard for prayer and our ability to connect with God that he was willing to react so harshly? Join us as we give thanks to God on this special Thanksgiving Sunday.
